Renamed Adactus Housing Association Ltd from Family Housing Association (Manchester) Ltd in 2005, the company traces its origins to the 1960s and was initially linked to the Catholic Housing Aid Societies set up to provide housing and advice. The Association has continued to evolve and is now actively involved in projects beyond its core business of managing and building housing. It is now developing regeneration initiatives, shared ownership, supported housing and provides training and employment initiatives.

The company is registered with the Financial Service Authority under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965 and is charitable. Is is a Registered Social Landlord regulated by The Housing Corporation, employs c245 staff, and manages c5,400 properties.

It is Corporate Trustee for the James Tomkinson Memorial Cottages Trust which manages four properties in Willington Corner near Darsbury. The Trust is registered as a charity with the Charities Commission.

It is also the majority shareholder in Heartland Court Management Limited, a private Company limited by shares responsible for the management and maintenance of the unadopted parking spaces and road to the rear of Richard Moon Street and Cornwall Grove in Crewe.

Acuna Acuna Ltd

Formally known as Palatine Commercial Ltd and renamed in 2002, Acuna Ltd is a subsidary of County Palatine Ltd. It is a profit making company registered with Companies House and limited by shares. Its main business activities relate to the management of commercial premises, a security service and the provision of multimedia products. Acuna's rules covent any profits that it makes to County Palatine Ltd. Acuna employs no staff and is charged for any staff time it uses by group members.

Beech Housing Beech Housing Association Ltd

Beech was formed in the early 1980s as a subsidiary of Family HA (M'cr) Ltd to specialise in the development and management of shared ownership properties. In August 2002 it became a subsidiary of Adactus Housing Group Ltd. As part of the Group, in April 2003Beech received shared ownership and leasehold properties previously owned by a subsidiary of County Palatine, taking the total number of properties to 645. In October 2006 The Housing Corporation approved a Transfer of Engagements, which formally merged Beech HA with Quest HA. Quest added a further 365 properties to Beech Housing Association, located in Formby, Southport, Crosby and Bootle. This housing consists primarily of rented sheltered accommodation and call alarm flats for older people but also includes some general needs housing and leasehold stock. Beech currently manages just over 1,000 properties in 13 Local Authorities across the North West. The company is registered with the Financial Service Authority under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965 and is non-charitable. It is a Registered Social Landlord regulated by The Housing Corporation. Beech employs no staff and is charged for any staff time it uses by group members.

Chorley Community Housing Association
CCH

Chorley Community Housing Association was set up in March 2007 with the transfer of all Chorley Borough Council's 2,916 homes to the new landlord. Chorley Community Housing Association (CCH) is a registered Social Landlord, registered with The Housing Corporation, a government agency. The Association is registered with the Industrial and Provident Societies with a charitable status. The transfer went ahead after tenants voted in favour of the changeover in a secret ballot held in July/August 2006. The Management Board of CCH is made up of four tenants, four nominees from Chorley Borough Council and four independent members from the community. CCH is a member of the Adactus Housing Group and will benefit from this partnership through economies of scale and the provision of services such as finance and IT that are expensive to set up from scratch.

Palatine Contracts Palatine Contracts Ltd

Palatine Contracts is a subsidiary of County Palatine Ltd and acts as a subcontractor, managing development work. This arrangement generates savings in VAT for the Associations in the Group. The company is non-charitable and is registered with Companies House.

Palatine Contracts Renaissance ConsortiumLtd

In March 2007 contracts were signed between Manchester City Council and the Renaissance Consortium for the delivery of the Miles Platting PFI (Private Finance Initiative).

The Renaissance Consortium is a company specially set up to deliver the Miles Platting PFI project. It consists of Adactus, Lovell, a national social housing contractor and developer and ICC, a specialistorganisation with experience of investment in private/public improvement schemes.

Adactuswill manage and maintain the area's council housing for the next 30 years. This includes collection of rent, dealing with repairs, and dealing with anti-social behaviour. However, the list does not stop there andas they have a vested interest in the area for the next 30 years they will provide a range of services for residents.
