Recycle for Cornwall
The Recycle for Cornwall campaign has been developed to raise public awareness of recycling and to provide consumers with a compelling reason to recycle.
Reduce
Some bottles are returnable – if you take them back to where you bought them from you’ll often get money back.
Instead of taking several new bags from the check-out every time you go to the supermarket, why not get a ‘Bag for Life’ that you can take with you every time you go. Or, you could pack your shopping into a cardboard box.
Many people have a home compost bin. Home composting provides you with a good way to reduce the amount of organic rubbish you throw away and can provide nutrition for your garden. So it’s not only good for the environment, your roses will thank you for it too!
For the items of clothing that aren’t in good enough condition to take to your charity shop, there are hundreds of other uses. Old T-shirts are always useful for car washing or cleaning your windows; and old sheets and towels make great dust sheets.
