Reuse
-
Donate toys and clothes to friends or charities.
-
Reuse plastic bags as bin liners.
-
Get rid of fiddly cling film and foil, and put your food in re-sealable containers instead.
-
When out picnicking, choose re-usable containers and flasks to store your food and drink.
-
If you’re throwing a party, avoid disposable cups and plates. Use normal crockery and cutlery instead.
-
Rechargeable batteries make financial sense as well as cutting down on the amount of rubbish we throw away.
-
Nappies make up as much as 4% of all the rubbish we send to landfill each year. Using real nappies can help to reduce the impact on the environment and save you up to £500.
The Cornish Real Nappy Project
can provide further information and advice.
